An 8-year-old girl who was abducted from her school in Welkom in the Free State this week has been found murdered.
Bokamo Shabe's body was found in an open field in Riebeeckstad, just outside Welkom, wrapped in a duvet.
Shabe was still wearing her school uniform.
Police spokesperson Motantsi Makhele says they have arrested two women aged 34 and 44 and a 46-year-old man in connection with the murder.
On the day of Shabe's abduction, her grandmother received two phone calls where a ransom of R50 000 was demanded for her safe return.
The suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday.
