Gauteng police have rescued a Pakistani businessman kidnapped more than two months ago and arrested a woman during the operation in Sebokeng.
Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda van Wyk said the breakthrough was made on Monday following the kidnapping in Lenasia “over two months ago.”
She said a multi-disciplinary team conducted an extensive investigation during which they received and acted upon information identifying a particular property in Sebokeng.
Van Wyk said the businessman was found in one of the rooms of the property, while the body of a man was also found.
She said a female suspect was arrested on the scene and more arrests are expected.
Van Wyk is urging communities to immediately report any incidents of kidnapping to their nearest police station or call the SAPS Crime Stop hotline number 08600 10111.
