The Standard Bank IRONMAN African Championships in Nelson Mandela Bay has been ranked in the Top 10 in multiple categories in the 2017 Athlete’s Choice Awards.
The results of the survey were announced on Tuesday and were based solely on surveys of athletes competing in all of the 2017 IRONMAN® and IRONMAN® 70.3® races globally.
“Out of the 40 IRONMAN and over 100 IRONMAN 70.3 events, we are proud to announce that the Standard Bank IRONMAN African Championships in Nelson Mandela Bay ranked in the Top 10 in multiple categories, including best swim, bike and run course marking a major accomplishment for the event and the host community,” a statement from Ironman said.
“The Standard Bank IRONMAN African Championship was selected third overall in Race Venue, second overall in Host City Experience and first overall in the Overall Swim, Overall Bike, and Overall Run course”.
Ironman said there were over 55 000 total respondents to their survey which is done after every event.
The 2018 edition of the Standard Bank IRONMAN African Championship will take place on 15 April.
