President Jacob Zuma's popularity is on the decline while that of sacked Finance Minister, Nhlanhla Nene, was on the up.
These findings are according to polls by market and opinion research company, Ipsos, whose Government Performance Barometer measures public perceptions about the performance of key leaders and institutions every six months.
According to the latest report, President Zuma's popularity rating among South Africans dropped from 5.5 in May to 5.2 in November.
In contrast Nene went from 3.9 in May to 4.1 in November.
Ipsos says Nene has a lower favourability rating than Zuma and this is only because he started out as Finance Minister in May last year.
Meanwhile, Ipsos Public Affairs Manager, Ricardo Braz, says a further interesting finding is that President Zuma's favourability rating has declined over the last year among supporters of the three largest political parties, including the ANC.
