The new established Border Management Authority of South-Africa conducted a sting operation at the Beitbridge Border post on Saturday where 443 children, traveling without guardians were denied entry into the country.
This after Border Guards, SAPS and the Department of Home Affairs stopped and searched 42 busses.
The children were all under the age of eight and were allegedly being trafficked into South-Africa.
The minors, who all had Zimbabwean passports, were handed over to Zimbabwean officials to process them back to their country.
Commissioner Mike Masiaphato said as a result none of the passengers on the 42 busses were allowed into the country.
Another 150 adults were later apprehended and stopped from entering.
The Border Management Authority was established by President Cyril Ramaphosa in April this year to ensure that South-Africa has an integrated Border Management platform with a single command to control our borders.
