Police in Modimolle are searching for the suspects who stole over 200 chickens from a farm in Olifantspoort earlier this week.
Spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the theft occurred between Sunday and Monday after the farmer had secured 374 live chickens inside an enclosure.
“He discovered the next morning that the mesh wire was forced open and that the cage had been also forced open on its left side, even though the door was still locked.
“227 live chickens were stolen,” he said.
Ledwaba said the case was transferred to Modimolle Stock Theft Unit for further investigation.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
