Thirteen people believed to be members of a dagga syndicate have been arrested near Upington in the Northern Cape.
Hawks spokesperson, Captain Paul Ramaloko says they found the suspects in possession of dagga worth R2.6 million in Kakamas near Upington.
He says eleven of those arrested, including three women and eight men will remain in custody, until their court appearance on November 9.
Ramaloko says the other two, a dealer and his female client, appeared in the Jan Kempdorp Magistrate’s Court and were released on bail.
He says the dealer was released on R8 000 bail, while his client was released on R2 000 bail.
They will both be back in court on December 3.
