The taxi driver involved in a crash near Standerton which killed 11 people has been arrested for having a fake driver's licence.
The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety says the driver had produced a fake license to traffic and police officers who attended the crash scene.
A kombi and a truck collided head-on on the R23 between Perdekop and Standerton on Friday. Eleven people were declared dead on the scene.
The taxi driver is facing a charge of falsifying a driver's licence and driving a vehicle without a licence.
Police are also investigating a case of culpable homicide.
