The Workers Association Union says newly appointed Mineral Resources Minister, Ngweko Ramatlhodi could bring calm to the troubled platinum mining sector.
WAU general-secretary, Elifas Ngoope says given his background as an advocate, he believe Ramatlhodi will be able to extinguish the raging fire in the sector.
The union also welcomed the appointment of Supra Mahumapelo as North West premier, who indicated his intention to stabilise the economy of Rustenburg.
Ngoope says the strike -- now in its 124th day -- had damaged the economy of the entire country.
