Police in Durban have launched a manhunt or two suspects who threw two homemade explosive devices into a Mosque along Kenneth Kuanda Road.
Spokesperson Brigadier Jay Naicker says in the early hours of Monday morning the suspects threw the devices onto the premises and fled the scene after they were interrupted by a security vehicle patrolling the area.
He says Police Bomb Technicians were called to the scene who confirmed that the devices, consisting of commercial explosives, were homemade.
Brigadier Naicker says the devices were not set up to explode but it is suspected that they were on route to an unknown location when they were disturbed.
An appeal was made to the community to not pick up any suspicious devices they may come across.
