Hofmeyr wants to "settle out of court"

 Popular Afrikaans singer, Steve Hofmeyr, says he'd like to settle a case of reckless or negligent driving against him out of court.

Hofmeyr, who appeared in the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate's Court on Monday morning, told the public broadcaster he was considering several legal options to be able to settle out of court.

The singer was arrested in Bronkhorstspruit earlier this month for speeding and released on bail of 500 rand.

In a statement posted on his Facebook, Hofmeyr said it was "irresponsible and dangerous" to speed.

His case was postponed to the 23rd of January.
