A man said to be about 30-years-old died in a shooting incident on the Old Johannesburg Road, near the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria on Thursday evening.
“It is believed that the man was attempting to hijack the driver of a Porsche Cayenne when he was shot,” said ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell.
He said their paramedics arrived on the scene at 18:38 along with the South African Police Services and a number of private security services.
“The man in question was found lying in the road in a very critical condition, having suffered gunshot wounds. His condition deteriorated rapidly and he unfortunately died,” Campbell said.
Police are investigating the incident.
