A suspected hijacker had died and another pulled to safety after they crashed their hijacked vehicle into a bridge and down a river in Mabopane.
According to a statement from Tracker, their officials and SAPS members pursued the vehicle which was hijacked near Brits in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Spokesperson, Chad Fichardt, says during the high speed chase the suspects crashed the vehicle into a bridge and the car ended up in a river.
He says one of the hijackers died instantly while the second was trapped inside the vehicle and was pulled to safety.
Fichardt says police also recovered two firearms in the wreckage of the car.
