A senior police officer and two family members appeared in court on charges of fraud and corruption involving more than R1.1m.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate said 49-year-old Lieutenant-General Adeline Shezi and her co-accused family members Tshepo Khoza (390 and Matilda Khoza (63), appeared in the Pretoria Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday.
IPID spokesperson, Sontaga Seisa, said that Shezi headed the police's Technology Management Services.
Daily Maverick reported last year that she had allegedly used money linked with a police contractor for construction work at her house.
Shezi and her co-accused were released on bail of R1000 each and will be back in court again on 7 January.
