Hero cops revive drowning victim


Two members of the Northern Cape police saved the life of a man who was pulled out the Warrenton Weir on New Year’s Day.

According to a police statement, Warrant Officers, Brakkies Breedt and Michael Korasi, were on patrol at the resort when they were called into action.

Two friends who had gone for a swim in the dam were pulled out of the water by the police officers who administered CPR on one them who had stopped breathing.

They managed to revive the man who was transported by ambulance to Warrenton Hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.

Breedt and Korasi were commended by their Cluster Commander, Brigadier Tip Brink.
