The Hawks in the Northern Cape have appealed to the public for help in trying to find one of four suspects involved in a 2022 armed robbery on a farm where gold and silver bars worth a reported R40 million rand were stolen.
Warrant-Officer Nomthandazo Mnisi said on Friday that they are trying to find Mayeso Ginora Lufeya, who they believe can assist in "resolving an ongoing case".
He said a couple was attacked on their farm, Witsloot, in Vosburg in November 2022 by four balaclava-clad assailants.

Mnisi said the suspects were armed with firearms, including shotguns, and they robbed a couple of gold bars and silver bars worth R40 million, as well as a 22 rifle.
He said police were notified, and an armed robbery case was opened, which was later transferred to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation.
Warrant Officer Minisi said police were appealing to anyone with information on Lufeya's whereabouts to contact Investigating Officer Warrant Officer Rooiland at 082 2770 5219, the crime stop number 008600 10111, the nearest police station, or share information on MySAPSApp.
Meanwhile, private investigator Mike Bolhuis published additional information on the incident, noting that the assailants were dressed in "new royal blue, long-sleeved overalls and black hoodies."
"They wore skeleton-like rubber masks and welding goggles. Their footwear included black leather boots, black sneakers with white laces, and white sneakers.
"The group comprised two white males and two black males," Bolhuis said.
According to his post, the robbers held and tortured the couple with an electrical stun gun for several hours.
"They specifically targeted the couple’s gold and silver collection, which they seemed to know was stored in an underground bunker and a safe in the kitchen pantry.
"The robbers forced the couple to surrender the keys to both safes," he said.
