Two senior Hawks officials and an alleged drug dealer have been arrested in Gauteng for conspiring to bribe an investigating officer in the elite unit.
Hawks spokesperson, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi, said the arrests relate to a criminal matter where vehicles and drugs were seized.
He said the two officers allegedly handed various sums of cash to the investigating officer to secure the release of the vehicles.
Mulaudzi said the three, aged between 41 and 48, are expected to appear in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Friday on charges of corruption and defeating the ends of justice.
