A security guard was shot dead and another wounded during a cash-in-transit robbery at a shop in Delft South in Cape Town at about 8 am on Saturday morning, Western Cape police said.
“One security officer was fatally wounded and another one sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. He was admitted to hospital for treatment,” police said in a statement.
The suspects fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and were yet to be arrested. The getaway vehicle, an LDV, was found abandoned in Philippi.
