The security guard who restrained one of the men who defaced a controversial painting of President Jacob Zuma at a Johannesburg art gallery is expected to appear in court on Monday.
36-year-old Paul Molesiwa was granted R1,000 bail by the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court last Wednesday.
The guard was filmed head-butting and flipping Louis Mabokela to the floor after he smeared black paint on the "The Spear" in the Goodman Gallery. Mabokela later laid a charge of assault.
A second man, Barend la Grange, who made a red cross on the painting was arrested with no apparent violence.
