All eyes will be on the Northern Cape High Court in Kimberley from today where the much-publicised Griekwastad murder trial continues on Monday.
A 17-year-old boy is accused of murdering 44-year-old Deon Steenkamp, his 43-year-old wife Christel and their 14-year-old daughter Marthella on their farm Naauwhoek in April last year.
Lani Fouché is covering the trial, which is being held in-camera because of the boy's age.
"A long list of witnesses are expected to take the stand and face cross-examination in the next few days. The minor stands accused of 3 counts of murder, one of rape and defeating the ends of justice my misleading the police by making a false statement. He pleaded not guilty to all charges against him during the start of his trial in March this year. Forensic experts, community members and close family of the accused testified in March in which contrasting evidence came forward in the events of the day'' she reports.
