Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan, will appear before Parliament's portfolio committee on Public Accounts on Tuesday.
Standing Committee chairperson, Temba Godi, said the Finance Minister would brief the Committee on matters relating to the Cash Paymaster Services contract with the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) to pay social grants from April.
The matter is in dispute after the Constitutional Court in 2014 declared the contract to be invalid and gave the Department of Social Development until the end of this month to get its house in order.
Social Development Minister, Bathabile Dlamini, who insists that social grants will be paid on the First of April will come before the Constitutional Court on Wednesday to answer a series of questions that the court posed in relation to the contract.
On Monday the SA Security Agency of South Africa filed its response to questions by the Constitutional Court.
News 24 reported that the spokesperson for the Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng had confirmed that an electronic copy of their submissions was filed on Monday afternoon.
The IFP said that IFP would use its members’ motion slot in the National Assembly, to debate the ever-evolving SASSA grant crisis.
The matter will be debated by MPs in the National Assembly just after 3pm Tuesday.
