Gauteng’s most wanted CIT robber back behind bars

File

Gauteng police arrested one of the province’s top-five most wanted suspects for his role in Cash-In-Transit robberies as well as murder.

Provincial police spokesperson, Captain Mavela Masondo, said the suspect, who is listed as one of the top 5 most wanted suspects in Gauteng, was arrested in Tembisa on Sunday.

He said the suspect was among 1170 people that were arrested in weekend operations.

“He was initially arrested in 2017 for murder and Cash-In-Transit robbery in Pretoria but absconded from his trial. A warrant of his arrest was issued and police CIT Task Team and Tactical Response Team traced and arrested him again,” Masondo said.

He said all the suspects would appear in various magistrate courts from Monday.
