Gauteng motorist held for killing motorcyclist

A motorist, who allegedly shot dead a motorcyclist in an apparent road-rage confrontation in Johannesburg on Friday, will be charged with murder.

The driver in his forties, is being treated for head injuries in hospital where he is under police guard.

Police said the motorist and motorcyclist, 39-year-old Douglas Pierce, were involved in an argument in Randburg early on Friday morning.

Its alleged that Pierce confronted and then assaulted the motorists who then opened fire, killing him.

Police recovered firearms from both men.

The weapons will be sent for ballistic tests.
