A Gauteng resident is out on bail of R5 000 following his arrest for the possession of endangered wild animals without a permit.
Duston Henrico, 37, was arrested by the Springbok K9 Unit, who pounced on a property following a tip-off.
The spokesperson for police Colonel Cherelle Ehlers says at the house police discovered 16 containers with 23 reptiles.
She says he was arrested and charged under the Northern Cape Nature Conservation Act 9/2009.
Ehlers says police also seized his camera, vehicle, laptop and phone.
Henrico made a brief court appearance in Springbok where the case was remanded to the 9th of January.
