Police officials, including a pathologist, were examining a crime scene on Wednesday morning where a learner was stabbed on his way to school.
The 16-year-old learner from Mondeor High School was stabbed to death in his chest.
His body was only removed from the veld about four hours after the incident.
The boy's parents, scholars and other curious passers-by gathered around near the scene as they watched pathologists gather evidence.
The MEC for Education in Gauteng Panyaza Lesufi rushed to the scene shortly after hearing the news.
