A Free State policeman is among three people arrested following an investigation into the use of fraudulent documents to purchase furniture valued at over R120 thousand rand.
Captain Loraine Earle said it was further alleged that the Sergeant had used a state vehicle to assist in transporting the goods from the store, with some of the furniture delivered to his house.
She said the takedown operation began after the store reported the matter to the police.
Earle said during the arrest of the policeman they found police dockets, swabs and exhibits linked to some cases.
She said the 42-year-old policeman also faces a charge of defeating the ends of justice linked to these case dockets.
The three, including a 46-year-old, woman and 39-year-old man, are due to appear in court soon.
