A man has died after falling into a grain silo at a factory in Bloemfontein.
ER24 said the man is believed to be in his forties.
A spokesperson said ER24 paramedics responded to the scene today along with other emergency services, the Fire Department, Provincial EMS and SAPS Search and Rescue.
“On inspection, paramedics found that on-site workers had already cut into the silo in attempts to free the man,” said spokesperson, Russel Meiring.
He said emergency personnel worked for some time to free the man from the silo.
“Once freed, paramedics assessed him and found that he showed no signs of life. CPR was immediately initiated, in an effort to revive the patient,” he added.
