Western Cape provincial traffic authorities said four trucks were petrol-bombed on the province's roads overnight, with one driver being seriously injured.
Spokesperson, Kenny Africa, says the incidents happened between 10 pm and 2 am near Somerset West, Mooreesburg, Porterville and Piekenierskloof Pass.
He says the first truck was stoned and set alight shortly before 10 pm on the N2 near Somerset West when a cement truck was forced off the road by two vehicles.
In another incident at Porterville, the driver had pulled off to sleep when his truck was petrol-bombed.
The driver was seriously injured and admitted to hospital in Piketberg.
Africa says in the other incidents a truck carrying frozen chickens was set alight and completely destroyed.
The suspects also poured petrol over the driver but did not set him alight.
