Four siblings from Balfour in Mpumalanga are expected to appear in court on Tuesday following their arrest over the weekend for allegedly killing their 71-year-old father.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli says members of the community found the elderly man dead on his couch on Saturday with multiple gunshot wounds.
He says police and medical personnel were summoned to the scene where they found the victim with visible gunshot wounds with empty cartridges at the scene.
The man, whose name was not released, was declared dead on the scene.
Colonel Mdhlulli says upon further investigation it was established that the victim had a protection order against his children.
His three daughters and one son aged between 36 and 45 were arrested in Heidelberg in Gauteng on the same day.
