The South African Civil Aviation Authority said an investigation was underway into a mid-air collision on Monday evening which resulted in the deaths of four people.
In a statement on Tuesday, the CAA said the accident happened near Grasmere, in the south of Gauteng.
“The accident involved two aircraft in a mid-air collision. Regrettably, this resulted in four (4) fatalities,” the Authority said.
The CAA investigation team is at the scene and the evidence collection phase has thus begun.
“A preliminary report will be issued within 30 days from the day of this accident,” the statement said.
No further details were released.
