A former SANParks official has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a storeroom at the Skukuza police stock theft unit.
Brigadier Donald Mdhluli said the 52-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday.
He said the container, which is used as a storeroom by the police unit, was burgled on 23 January and various items and equipment used at crime scenes were stolen.
Mdhluli said these items included some cleaning materials and sets of knives, adding that it appeared that it was not the first time that the storeroom had broken into.
He said the former SANParks official is due to appear in court on Wednesday.
Mdhluli said more arrests have not been ruled out.
SANParks said in a brief statement that the suspect had resigned after his arrest.
