National police said two former employees who were dismissed by G4S were arrested for the alleged role in the dramatic escape of murderer and rapist, Thabo Bester.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, said the two were arrested at their homes in Bloemfontein on Monday.
“The pair will appear before the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, on a charge of assisting an inmate to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice,” she said.

Mathe said the team investigating the dramatic escape of Bester from Mangaung Correctional Centre last year, has so far arrested eight suspects for their alleged roles in the dramatic escape which also made international nears.
She said SAPS cannot rule out the possibility of making more arrests as the investigation continues.
Bester and his alleged accomplice, Dr Nandipha Magudumana were arrested in Tanzania along with the Zimbabwean national after it was confirmed that the person who died in a fire in his cell was not Bester.
A case of murder is under investigation and the deceased has since been identified as 31-year-old Katlego Mpholo.
Bester will be back in court again on 16 May.
