The former Bafana Bafana and Premier Soccer League player arrested for allegedly attempting to rob a truck carrying cigarettes in Boksburg North today may be linked to a string of other crimes.
Gauteng police say the player, who has not yet been named, was arrested along with ten others in an intelligence driven operation.
The footballer has been linked to a cash-in-transit robbery in February in Mpumalanga and in 2011 was arrested for being in possession of stolen goods worth R4.2million.
At the time he was out on bail for a similar incident.
For the latest incident, the soccer star will appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Friday.
