Two foreign nationals believed to be part of an online international scam have been arrested in Pretoria.
The suspects aged 39 and 42 years old were arrested by a joint operation between the International Criminal Police Organisation and the Hawks on Wednesday morning.
Hawks spokesperson, Colonel Katlego Mogale, says the search and seizure operation recovered electronic equipment, thousands of rands and an unlicensed firearm.
Mogale says they will be linked to online scams that are being investigated by the 419 Provincial Task Team.
The suspects, believed to be part of a syndicate, will be extradited to the United States by Interpol.
This forms part of an ongoing investigation to bring these online scamsters to book.
