South African airline Fly Blue Crane has announced interruption of flights as the airline completes business rescue procedures.
Airline spokesperson, Bettina Mtetwa, says this will largely affect passengers travelling between Johannesburg, Kimberley, Bloemfontein and Cape Town.
The airline also has flights to and from Mthatha and George.
Mtetwa says they're hopeful the airline will soon overcome its current financial distress in the light of President Zuma's commitment to transformation and Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment.
"We welcome that he wants to uplift black businesses, but we would like to see it being addressed - because we have approached different government funding schemes and they have not been fruitful."
Mtetwa added that the airline was South Africa's first majority black female-owned commercial airline in the country, yet it never gained any financial support. She rubbished allegations that passengers were not informed of the flights cancelations or not refunded. Mtetwa said at this stage it had not been confirmed when the flights would be back on schedule.
Meanwhile, the airline was expected to present its business rescue plan to creditors in the next few weeks.
