Five prisoners who escaped in EC rearrested

Five prisoners who escape from custody in Glen Grey in the Eastern Cape last week have been rearrested.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Namhla Mdleleni, says the five were arrested on Sunday in the Glen Grey area by members of a task team established following the escape.

She says the escapees appeared in court on Monday facing additional charges of escaping from lawful custody.

Mdleleni says the search for four other escapees is still continuing.
