Eastern Cape police are investigating cases of culpable homicide after five people died in crashes over the weekend.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell, said that four men were killed in a head-on collision between a bakkie and car on Saturday.
He said the accident happened on the N2 between Mthatha and Qumbu.
Bramwell said that two people were seriously injured.
In the second accident reported on Sunday, one person died in East London when he lost control over the vehicle and crashed into a road-side barrier causing the car to overturn.
