Five people have been killed and seven others injured when parts of a house under construction in Alberton, collapsed.
Netcare 911 says paramedics and other services are currently on scene in Meyersdal.
Spokesperson, Santi Steinmann, says upon arrival on scene paramedics found several people were injured after the house collapsed.
Nine people were believed to be trapped under the collapsed house.
Rescuers were working on freeing them. The cause of the accident was unknown
