Five arrested for alleged tender fraud at office of KZN Premier


Five accused linked to tender fraud and corruption in the KwaZulu-Natal Office of the Premier appeared in the Durban Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday, facing charges of fraud and corruption.

They face charges of corruption relating to a catering tender and fraud amounting to R24 million.

The tender dates back to 2013.

The accused were released on various bail amounts, ranging from R5 000 to R20 000.

The NPA says the matter was postponed to the second of October for additional accused to appear in court.

The accused include the Chief Financial Officer Ziphathe Mboneni Cibani (55), the Personal Assistant Nomusa Zakwe (35), Admin Clerk

Njabulo Makhitini (34), Senior Admin Clerk Sithembiso Msomi (53) and the Director of a closed Corporation Gugu Kheswa (51).
