Government departments and civil society have welcomed the murder conviction of musician Molemo Jub Jub Maarohanye and Themba Tshabalala.
The Protea Magistrate's Court found the two guilty on Tuesday on four counts of murder, two of attempted murder, racing on a public road, and driving under the influence of drugs.
Four schoolboys were killed and two seriously injured when Maarohanye and Tshabalala crashed into them while drag racing in March 2010.
They spent their first night behind bars last night after being denied bail following their conviction.
