A Western Cape father and his son are due to appear in court this week for being in posession of 10,400 units of perlemoen.
The Deparment of Agricultur, Forestry and Fisheries, says they were arrested last Thursday.
Their vehicle was also seized.
The Department says it remains committed to fighting the illegal fishing and harvesting of marine resources.
Department spokesperson, Lionel Adendorf, has also called on communities to assist in the fight against perlemoen poaching.
