A 57-year-old Mpumalanga farmer and his 24-year-old son are expected to appear in court on Thursday for allegedly killing 42 goats, belonging to another local man.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi says it is alleged that the suspects spotted the herd grazing at their farm at around 12 pm on Christmas day.
He says they reportedly shot three goats but then decided to run the rest of them over with their two bakkies, killing them instantly.
Police were summoned to the scene and the men were arrested on the spot.
