A young Eastern Cape man charged with the murder of a retired Joubertina cattle farmer will remain behind bars for now.
The 22-year-old Jason Witbooi appeared in court on Monday for the murder of 69-year-old Norman Ludwig on his farm Valleisig about 10km outside the town on 5 October.
Ludwig's body was found outside the house near the kitchen door, with injuries to his head.
Witbooi was arrested several days later in Louterwater by a team of detectives.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, said that the case against Witbooi was postponed to 2 November for a bail application.
