Two men have been sentenced to life in prison, while a third has been jailed for 18 years for brutally killing an elderly couple on their farm near Koster.
The three were sentenced in the Mogwase Circuit Court in North West, for murdering 63-year old Marthie Erasmus, and her 62-year old husband Chris Erasmus on their farm Hartbeesfontein in December 2010.
Although Chris survived the farm attack, he died a month later.
A social worker's report, submitted to the court during the trial, had mentioned that Marthie had been known for her kindness, and fed the poor and transported the elderly to collect their pension money.
