A woman has died after temporary scaffolding collapsed due to high winds at a Linkin Park concert in Cape Town on Wednesday night.
City spokeswoman Kylie Hatton says the woman died after being rushed to the nearby Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital.
Nineteen people were left injured by the accident with 12 requiring hospitalisation.
Hatton said the site has been secured for an investigation by police.
The temporary structure was a "branding activation" and located next to the stadium forecourt on the Cape Town CBD side of the venue.
Linkin Park issued a statement after the show in which it expressed its concern for those injured and heartfelt condolences to the family of the fan who died as a result of her injuries.
