The Hawks in the Northern Cape have issued an identikit of a suspect they believe was behind a R9-million cash-in-transit heist nine months ago.
The man is pictured wearing the uniform of a security company.
According to Hawks spokesperson, Captain Philani Nkwalase, the suspect and an accomplice pretended to be security guards from another cash in transit security company expected to collect cash for pension payment company Cash Paymaster Services.
He says they were allowed entry and eventually made off with R9-million in cash.
Nkwalase says the theft was later discovered when the real security company vehicle arrived for the official pickup.
