Eskom says there will most likely be no load shedding until at least May next year.
CEO Brian Molefe says they will also step up their maintenance in December, when electricity demand is much less during the holidays.
News 24 reports that while maintenance on Eskom's ageing power plants has been increased, the power utility has managed to stave off implementing load shedding for more than 80 days.
Molefe says they do not anticipate load shedding until at least the 30th of April, adding that Eskom is working on overcoming the maintenance backlog ahead of the winter season.
He told Parliament that Eskom was celebrating 50 days of no load shedding and 87 days where only two and a half hours of load shedding was implemented.
