Eskom announced on Sunday that it will implement stage 1 load shedding from 07:00 to 22:00.
This comes after a day of stage 2 load shedding and week of daily load shedding.
"This is due to a combination of a shortage of generating units and low reserve levels at our pumped storage schemes and open cycles gas turbines," Eskom said on Sunday.
"Eskom would like to assure customers that load shedding is implemented as a necessary measure to protect the power system and to ensure that maintenance is carried out in order to guarantee that our supply of electricity can be maintained in the long term."
