Eskom boss vows no planned load shedding this winter

Eskom says it does not plan any load-shedding during the winter.

Acting CEO Brian Molefe said on Friday that Unit 1 at the Koeberg Power Station will be returned to service this weekend, after a 3-month planned shutdown for re-fuelling.

He said Unit 6 at the newly-built Medupi Power Plant in Limpopo reached an 800MW milestone this week, which helped to stabilise the power grid.

Eskom spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe says from Monday, power cuts, if any, will only be in Stage 1.
