Eskom chairperson, Zola Tsotsi, has stepped down.
The power utility made the announcement on its official Twitter page on Tuesday.
It says the Eskom board and Tsotsi agreed Tuesday morning "to part ways amicably."
Dr Ben Ngubane has been appointed acting chairpeson.
Eskom said Tsotsi agreed to step down to allow the board to focus on the core issues facing the partastal.
Earlier this month Tstosti announced the suspension of four top Eskom officials pending an independent probe into the parastatal.
